Terms of Service

1. About this service
Politically Informed is an independent civic transparency platform operated by Infinite Futures AI Inc. We aggregate publicly available Canadian federal, Alberta provincial, and Edmonton municipal political data from primary sources and approved public-data aggregators, then present it in a structured, searchable format. We are not affiliated with the Government of Canada, the Parliament of Canada, Elections Canada, the Government of Alberta, the City of Edmonton, openparliament.ca, or any political party.
2. Informational use only
All content on this site is provided for informational purposes. Nothing on this site constitutes legal, political, financial, or electoral advice. Information about politicians, votes, contributions, and bills is presented as a convenience and reflects the data published by upstream public sources. We make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy but make no guarantees of completeness, timeliness, or fitness for any particular purpose.
If you intend to rely on a fact shown on this site for a legal, journalistic, electoral, or research decision, please verify the underlying record against the primary source. Our Methodology page explains where every record on the site originated.
3. No guarantee of completeness or accuracy
Political data sources change over time. Records get updated, corrected, retracted, or expanded by their original publishers. We do not guarantee that every record on the site reflects the most recent state of its upstream source. Builds are produced on a periodic schedule and the build identifier in the footer of every page tells you which version of the data you are viewing.
4. No political advice; no candidate endorsements
Politically Informed does not endorse any politician, political party, candidate, or political position. We do not generate or publish editorial commentary about politicians. We present primary-source records and statistical summaries of them.
5. AI-assisted features
AI features are OPTIONAL. Politically Informed does not provide AI compute and does not resell AI services. Subscribers may optionally configure their own third-party LLM provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, or self-hosted Ollama) to generate plain-English summaries of bills, vote patterns, and contribution patterns. These AI outputs are generated at request time using the subscriber's own credentials and run against the third-party provider of their choice — Politically Informed only provides the infrastructure and prompts. We do not generate or vouch for the accuracy of AI-produced explanations. Subscribers who do not connect a provider receive the full platform without AI features.
Every AI-generated explanation on this site is displayed with a disclosure asking readers to verify any specific claim against the primary public records. AI output may be incomplete, incorrect, or biased; treat it as supplementary commentary, not as authoritative analysis.
6. Acceptable use
By accessing this site you agree:
- not to attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the site, its underlying data store, or its infrastructure;
- not to scrape the site at a rate that would degrade service for other users (we publish data builds you can reference directly — please contact us for bulk access rather than scraping);
- not to use the site for any unlawful purpose, including impersonation, defamation, harassment, or election interference;
- not to misrepresent records shown on this site as having a different origin or context than what we display.
7. Subscription and billing
Subscriptions are billed by Stripe Inc. on Infinite Futures AI Inc.'s behalf at $20/month CAD, plus any applicable sales tax shown by Stripe at checkout. Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. By subscribing, you agree to Stripe's customer terms in addition to these terms. Cancellation is available at any time via the Stripe Customer Portal accessible from your account page. Cancelled subscriptions remain active through the end of the current billing period. We do not offer pro-rated refunds for mid-period cancellation, except where required by law.
8. Service interruptions
We make reasonable efforts to maintain high uptime, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The site may be unavailable due to maintenance, infrastructure failures at our hosting providers, or upstream data-source outages. We do not provide service-level credit for downtime, except where active subscribers may receive proportional credit at our discretion for sustained outages.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Infinite Futures AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of this site, including any reliance on the accuracy or completeness of the data presented. Our total cumulative liability for any claim related to this service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in subscription fees in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
10. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms from time to time. The 'Last updated' date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced to active subscribers by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the site after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of these terms shall be brought in the courts of competent jurisdiction located in Edmonton, Alberta.
12. Contact
For questions about these terms, contact us at [email protected]. For factual corrections to records shown on the site, use [email protected] (see the corrections process).
